Recently I’ve had more requests for recipes here on the blog and so I’ve been on the lookout as I cook dinner for recipes that I often cook that are easy and that our whole family loves. I’m no food photographer and I’m certainly not a chef of any kind, but with five boys and a family to feed every night, we have a few things that work. 🙂 This Black Bean Soup is so easy to make and one that I try to have ingredients on hand at all times. It’s easy to prepare in the morning or right before you want to eat it. It’s also really mild so everyone likes it!
How To Make Black Bean Soup
1 pound ground turkey
30 oz black beans
1/2 cup salsa- mild
1 tablespoon chili powder
16 oz. chicken broth or use 16 oz. water and 2 bullion cubes
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
5 tablespoons sour cream
1. Brown turkey and then drain.
2. Combine the meat, salsa, beans, chili powder and broth together.
Best served with tortilla chips or cornbread.
I love that it’s healthy, delicious, filling and pretty inexpensive to make- not to mention easy!
