Fall is my favorite season for fashion. After a year of not really dressing for things, it’s exciting to see what’s trending. To me, fashion is always about getting out of your comfort zone and being willing to try something new. If you’re hesitant to embrace up-and-coming trends, this episode is definitely for you. Here are a few ways to get started with updating your closet this Fall.
Remember Fashion Goes in Cycles
Everything you love will come back around, and you’ll get to wear it again. Save your absolute favorite pieces.
DO Try Things On
Fit is such a massive part of making things look good: TRY THINGS ON. And keep trying. A lot of the current pushback on skinny jeans is about fit. Maybe you didn’t love the one pair of mom jeans or wide-leg jeans you tried on. Try lots of pairs and styles, try multiple sizes, don’t assume it’s the style. It could be the wash, the length, or the cut.
Don’t Forget the Makeup Bag
Makeup trends have shifted drastically. We’re seeing less contour and minimized highlighter and eyeliner. Natural and low maintenance is making a comeback.
These are just some of the fall trends I’m discussing on the podcast, so tune in for more. I’d love to hear what trends you are embracing for the first time or again. Leave a comment on social- you can find me @kileenickels on Instagram. Shop the trends at Nickel & Suede at nickelandsuede.com.
